Team of subproject 4 of the project group "BayÖkotox - Ecotoxicology in Bavaria".

The project group "BayÖkotox - Ecotoxicology in Bavaria" aims to explain the effects of environmental pollutants on terrestrial ecosystems in more detail. Two of the seven projects involved in the project group take place at the University of Bayreuth.

The LTTT supports subproject 4 which investigates the effects and mechanisms of airborne pollutants from traffic on insects. The focus will be on particulate matters from engine combustion processes. Due to their physicochemical properties, these can have negative effects on insects and their tissues and thus be relevant for "insect mortality". The project is intended to contribute to a better understanding of the potential negative effects of traffic-related particulate matters and to provide incentives for the further development of technical solutions. In an image film the current results are presented and first insights into the project work are offered.
