Bayreuth, 19.07.2021
The 2nd interdisciplinary Summer School of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in cooperation with the Carl von Linde Foundation and Linde took place at the TUM Quantum in Garching-Hochbrück from July 19th to 23rd. During this event, 28 PhD students participated in a series of lectures, discussions and field trips around the topic "Applied Thermodynamics - a Powerful Enabler for Sustainable Gas Processing and Energy Solutions". On behalf of LTTT, Tim Herrmannsdörfer, M.Sc, participated in the event.
The focus of the Summer School was on the networking of the PhD students as well as on a professional exchange among each other and with experts from the industry. In this context, each participant was given the opportunity to present his or her dissertation topic/project in a short presentation and then to discuss issues that arose. In addition to interesting lecture topics, such as applied thermodynamics, natural gas, green hydrogen, carbon management and flexibilization of industrial plants, the Summer School also offered participants the opportunity to visit the relevant laboratories at TUM as well as at Linde Gas in Unterschleißheim and Linde Engineering in Pullach.
