New L3T/ZET employee in the BayWiss College of Energy

The BayWiss joint doctoral program "Energy" has welcomed a new PhD student, Mr. Tobias Popp, M.Eng. Mr. Popp is supervised in his joint doctorate by Professor Dr.-Ing. Andreas P. Weiß (OTH Amberg-Weiden) and Professor Dr.-Ing. Dieter Brüggemann (L3T/ZET, University of Bayreuth). His doctoral thesis is closely linked to the "TurboSmart" project funded by the Bavarian Research Foundation. In this research project, OTH Amberg-Weiden, DEPRAG SCHULZ GMBH u. CO. and ZET are developing an intelligent, adaptive micro-expansion turbine for use in the Organic Rankine Cycle.
After a position as a research associate at the OTH Amberg-Weiden, Mr. Popp has been employed at L3T/ZET since 1st September 2020. Here in Bayreuth, he will experimentally test the developed turbine at the ORC test facility.
